CDC Releases Updated Ebola PPE Guidance for U.S. Healthcare Workers

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has released updated guidance on the personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements for U.S. healthcare workers who care for patients being evaluated for Ebola and patients with confirmed Ebola virus disease. In the guidance, CDC clarifies its definitions of fluid-resistant and impermeable with respect to gowns and coveralls and provides specifications for each that facilities can use to ensure that they purchase garments that meet the agency's recommendations.
