Six Steps to Improve Adult Vaccination Rates

​More than 50,000 adults in the United States die from vaccine-preventable diseases each year. That finding, by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), was quoted in an August 14, 2017, article in the American Medical Association's AMA Wire, which also noted CDC says about 25% of physicians believe adult vaccination recommendations are too difficult for patients to follow. With these factors in mind, AMA presented six team-based steps that physician practices can take to improve adult vaccination rates. The first step, AMA said, is to get the entire healthcare team, from front desk to physicians, on board and on the same page when it comes to conveying the importance of vaccinations to patients.
