​Increasing a nursing home aide's control over his or her job and decreasing workplace demands had the greatest impact on reducing perceived stress among nursing home aides, according to a recent study in BMC Health Services Research funded by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health. The authors conducted a computer simulation using system dynamics modeling, a method for researching complex relationships. The simulation depicted an interactive relationship between worker stress and specific workplace conditions.
