An emergency department (ED) physician has been suspended after video of her mocking a patient who said he was suffering from an anxiety attack went viral, according to a June 16, 2018, article in the San Francisco Chronicle. The patient, whose father said he has a history of anxiety attacks, had been brought to the ED when he had an anxiety attack after basketball practice. The patient's father said his son had a prescription for clonazepam, which can be used to treat anxiety, but that he had not been taking it in the days leading up to the admission. When the physician accused the patient of coming to the hospital for drugs, the father began filming the encounter, the article said.
