Joint Commission Releases Infographic on Anesthesia and Sedation Safety

​The Joint Commission has released a new infographic to raise awareness of the risks of anesthesia or sedation and precautions that should be taken. Part of the agency's Speak Up initiative, the infographic, Speak Up: Anesthesia and Sedation, is targeted to a general audience and includes statistics, a description of types of anesthesia, information patients should tell their physicians, and precautions patients should take both before and after receiving anesthesia.
