California EMSA Releases Updated HICS Guidebook and Tools

The California Emergency Medical Services Authority (EMSA) has updated its Hospital Incident Command System and released a new guidebook and tools. Expanded to meet the needs of all hospitals, regardless of their size, location, or patient care capabilities, the Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) 2014 Guidebook incorporates lessons learned from real-world emergencies that were highlighted during the 2009 to 2010 National HICS Survey and the 2011 HICS National Stakeholders' Summit.
