Hospital Must Produce Electronic Audit Trail in Case Involving Postsurgical Ischemic Injury

In a lawsuit alleging failure to timely diagnose and treat a patient's postsurgical ischemic injury, the Supreme Court of New York, Appellate Division, granted the plaintiff's motion to compel the defendant hospital to produce the audit trail of his records for a period of 17 days. In so ruling, the court reversed the trial court's order denying the motion.
The patient underwent foot surgery at the hospital. Afterward, he experienced ischemic injury, resulting in swelling, infection, and gangrene. His leg was amputated...
