A Massachusetts anesthesiologist has settled with the estate of a patient who died following an outpatient endoscopy procedure amid claims that the anesthesiologist failed to adequately monitor the patient, according to an article in the February 2023 Medical Malpractice Verdicts, Settlements & Experts.

The 46-year-old patient was scheduled for an outpatient endoscopy procedure for treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease, and her sedation was overseen by the defendant anesthesiologist.
