In an April 15, 2013, Urgent Medical Device Component Recall letter submitted by an ECRI Institute member hospital, Bayer states that when the DC power supply is connected to AC power (wall outlet) and the power cables below, the DC power cables below may heat excessively and short, potentially resulting in the cable jacket heating and/or melting. Bayer states that it has received no reports of patient injury associated with this problem.
