In a March 13, 2020, letter, Medtronic addresses the potential use of a single ventilator to support more than one patient concurrently, and which circuits to use if your facility chooses to perform this practice. Medtronic states that the above ventilators are designed to be used on one patient at a time. Ventilating multiple patients concurrently on one ventilator is considered by Medtronic to be off-label use. There is published literature that highlights the limitations of ventilating multiple patients with one ventilator.
