A case report from the March 16, 2020, issue of Annals of Internal Medicine describes the clinical outcome of healthcare workers who cared for a patient with severe pneumonia before it was known that he was positive for COVID-19. Contact tracing revealed 41 healthcare workers who had been exposed to aerosol-generating procedures for at least 10 minutes at a distance of less than two meters from the patient.
