The Sedona Conference, a non-profit law and policy research institute, has published a draft of its Incident Response Guide, a project of its Working Group on Data Security and Privacy Liability, for public comment. The guide aims to provide a "comprehensive, but practical" document to help organizations address the legal, technical, and policy issues related to data breaches. The rapidly evolving nature of this area of the law makes developing such a guide difficult, the authors said, because the information may become outdated quickly. To address this problem, the guide will be published in intervals. Changes to regulations will be reflected in the final version of the guide, the authors said.
