OSHA Updates Eye and Face Protection Standards for Construction

Healthcare risk managers in facilities possibly undergoing future renovations may want to be aware that the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has issued a proposed rule updating its eye and face protection standards for, among other sectors, the construction industry. Although the healthcare industry has been required to comply with the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) occupational and educational eye and face protection standard since OSHA issued its final rule on personal protective equipment in 2009, the rule did not modify the standards for the construction industry.
