Founder of the Healthier Hospitals Initiative Discusses Sustainability

Hospitals should engage in sustainability efforts because “they will save money, improve patient care, and better serve the communities in which they're operating,” stated Gary Cohen, founder of the Healthier Hospitals Initiative (HHI), in an interview published in the February 2013 issue of Health Facilities Management. According to the article, HHI launched in April 2012 with a coalition of 11 sponsoring healthcare systems that represent about 500 hospitals.
