In a letter submitted by an ECRI Institute member hospital, Epimed states that the stylet may protrude from the distal end of the above catheters. Epimed also states that this problem increases the risk of puncture to the dura, neural tissue, or other surrounding epidural blood vessels, potentially leading to additional complications.
