Health System Board Oversight of Quality Is Underutilized, Says IHI's Resource to Promote Engagement

​Many healthcare organizations' boards of trustees are motivated to ensure high quality care at their organizations but lack a clear understanding of how to effectively conduct their oversight activities, says the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI). In response, IHI and its Lucian Leape Institute have prepared Framework for Effective Board Governance of Health System Quality, a resource for healthcare trustees.
