A workgroup formed by the Council on Patient Safety in Women's Health Care, convened by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, has released a care bundle of 15 elements (grouped into 4 domains) intended to lessen the risk of surgical site infections (SSIs) after major gynecologic surgery, such as hysterectomies. This bundle is available in the January 2017 issue of Anesthesia & Analgesia. The four domains of the bundle are readiness, recognition/prevention, response, and reporting/systems learning.
