What's the news. A surgical team at a U.K. hospital undertook a simulation to test the effectiveness of their coronavirus (COVID-19) infection prevention protocols and found them inadequate. Using ultraviolet fluorescent powder to mimic a COVID patient's shedding of germs, the simulation revealed lapses in the surgical team's protocols for use of personal protective equipment, administration of anesthesia, and movement of patients, staff, and equipment.
