Woman Dies after Refusing to Leave Hospital That Discharged Her against Her Will

According to reports, the woman came to the 25-bed hospital late in the evening of December 20, complaining of abdominal pain. She was treated and discharged overnight, but refused to leave the hospital, stating that she still did not feel well. Hospital staff eventually called the police, who handcuffed the woman and took her to a patrol car, telling her that she could still seek treatment if she felt unwell but that she would have to do so at another facility.
