The assessment, acquisition, management, and use of medical devices throughout the healthcare facility are critically linked with the quality of patient care. When a healthcare organization introduces a new medical technology, there must be a process through which it can ensure appropriate credentialing and privileging procedures for physicians, and staff, as necessary.
