Medical Technology Management

​Virtually every medical procedure involves the use of one or, more likely, multiple medical devices. The use and management of medical devices throughout the healthcare facility are linked with the quality of patient care. Several activities must be undertaken to ensure the safety, efficacy, and cost-effectiveness of diagnostic, therapeutic, and supporting equipment used within the facility. Legal requirements must also be met. These activities involve many departments and individuals. As such, the risk manager should complete this questionnaire annually in conjunction with other individuals responsible for introducing and managing medical technology.
