Interventions for Pressure Ulcer Prevention

A study in the August 23, 2006, Journal of the American Medical Association (Reddy et al.) reviewed randomized controlled trials of interventions used to prevent the development of pressure ulcers. The authors selected 59 trials for review; almost 75% of the trials involved patients in acute care settings, while the remaining trials involved patients in long-term care or other healthcare settings.
