Patient Safety/Risk Management Scorecard
August 16, 2018 | Health System Risk Management
This scorecard can assist risk managers with assessing the facility’s risk management program. It was designed to be given to a facility’s president or chief nursing officer to remind them that they are key to influencing department leaders and rallying their executive team to make the program successful. The scorecard focuses a variety of strategies, including the development of annual goals and objectives for the risk management plan; attendance at patient safety/risk management committee and performance improvement committee meetings to maintain awareness of related activities throughout the system; risk identification and loss prevention activities, such as compliance with clinical guidelines and National Patient Safety Goals; performance of root-cause analyses and proactive systems analyses as required; participation in patient safety executive walkrounds; and risk management education and presentations to share lessons.
