A common practice in U.S. hospitals is the use of reprocessed single-use devices (SUDs). While the decision to use reprocessed SUDs is at least in part cost-driven, it is imperative that healthcare facilities base their decision to use reprocessed SUDs on many factors besides cost savings, including safety, performance, reliability, regulatory requirements, and environmental benefits.
