ECRI​​'s Device Evaluation group produces its annual list of the Top 10 Health Technology Hazards to:

1. Identify the potential sources of danger that we believe warrant the greatest attention for the coming year

2. Offer practical recommendations for reducing the risks

Each hazard describes the problem, outlines remedies, and lists resources to help healthcare facilities prevent adverse incidents that could lead to patient or staff harm. While not all hazards will apply at all healthcare facilities, the list can provide a starting point for patient safety discussions.
