A wide variety of pulse sequences are used in MR to acquire images of both anatomy and physiology. Abbreviations are widely used to describe the sequences, and the terminology is often based on the underlying physics. Here's a list of the terms, their definitions, and the related clinical applications, as well as other common MR-related terms and abbreviations.
