Alarms May Be Inaudible in Some Gambro Artis Dialysis Systems

A member hospital reports that, during a patient’s dialysis treatment, the Artis alarmed but the audible component of the alarm could not be heard. Clinicians only became aware of the problem when the patient noticed the unit’s red status light (indicating a high-priority alarm condition) and asked about the light’s significance.
