Under the terms of a consent decree with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Steris will end support of all Steris System 1 (SS1) processors in the United States by August 2, 2011. By that date, all U.S. healthcare facilities will have to transition to alternative systems to meet their reprocessing needs.
