September 19, 2018 | Evaluations & Guidance

  • The 3Dimensions provides 2-D, synthesized 2-D, and 3-D images of the breast for screening or diagnosis of breast cancer. In tomosynthesis (3-D) mode, the system generates a series of 2-D images through the breast.
  • Supplementary uses of the system are diagnostic procedures and dual-energy imaging, as well as biopsy procedures, which must be performed under the supervision of medical professionals.
  • Major device components and software features
    • Motorized gantry
      • The swivel range is -155° to +195°, with preselectable rotation angle; for biopsy and tomosynthesis, the rotation angle is -140° to +180°.
      • The height adjustment is 70.5 to 141 cm.
    • X-ray tube and generator
      • Source-to-image (detector) distance (SID): 70 cm
      • kV range: 20 to 49 kV in 1 kV increments
      • Power output: 7 kW
