- The aXcent Medical Pavo monitor is designed to measure, store, and display noninvasive blood pressure (NIBP), oxygen saturation (SpO2), temperature, and pulse rate (PR) for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients. It is primarily used for spot-check measurements to track the status of low-acuity patients.
- The Pavo can also be used to continuously monitor a patient's SpO2 and measure NIBP periodically at predefined intervals. The monitor also measures additional vitals such as ECG, end-tidal carbon dioxide (EtCO2), and respiratory rate (RR) on adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients. The system interprets vital signs data to offer trends and to alert clinicians to emergent events such as, but not limited to, high RR or low SpO2.
- The device uses the published Modified Early Warning Score (MEWS) protocol for detection and clinician notification of early signs of patient deterioration.
