- The 1588 AIM Platform is a 2-D, high-definition (HD) surgical video system.
- Surgical video systems are multicomponent systems that are widely used to view live, color video of the interior of the body during diagnostic and therapeutic minimally invasive surgery (MIS). During MIS, an endoscope (in addition to other surgical instruments) is inserted through natural openings in the body or through access ports.
- The 1588 AIM Platform can also be used for indocyanine green (ICG) fluorescence imaging during laparoscopic surgical procedures.
The 1588 AIM Platform offers five advanced imaging techniques, which are likely to be beneficial for different purposes and procedure types. Four are offered standard, one is optional: a) Clarity (optional) enhances contrast and detail in an image in real time to help surgeons see better in smoky environments. Clarity uses three algorithms to:
- Increase contrast
- Emphasize edges
- Enhance color
