- The Extension Engage is designed to alert appropriate clinical staff to the relevant clinical alarms via mobile communication devices in a timely manner.
- Major device components and software features:
- Extension Platform Appliance—This is a hardware appliance based on an Enterprise Linux OS that interfaces with the various systems to receive alarms and other contextual information, and routes the alerts to end-user devices. This appliance can be deployed virtually and houses several specialized databases that store system configuration, including priorities, rules, and workflows surrounding each alert.
- Engage Reporting Solution—This is a software application that is deployed on a second separate server platform (virtual or physical).
