  • The Unite Connect is used to alert appropriate clinical staff to the relevant clinical alarms via mobile communication devices in a timely manner.
  • Major device components and software features:
    • Elise 3 Appliance—This is an embedded Linux server with software specific to each connection/integration to the solution, typically the medical device systems from which alarms are received. For example, the vendor offers one appliance, the mobile monitoring gateway (MMG), that is unique to their interface with GE monitors. Similarly, the vendor offers another appliance to connect to the facility's end-user communication platform (e.g., Cisco call manager, smartphone platforms). The appliance facilitates communication between the solution and the connected systems (e.g., medical devices and communication platforms) by translating any proprietary vendor protocols. It also handles the filtering and routing logic for that specific integration.
    • Unite Connectivity Manager—This is a Windows-based server that handles the Unite View and Unite Assign applications for central viewing of active alarms and staff assignments, respectively.
