- The primary purpose of AliveCor's KardiaMobile is to record, store, and send single-lead ECG tracings.
- The Kardia smartphone application also displays ECG tracings and uses an algorithm to detect the presence of atrial fibrillation and normal sinus rhythm.
- Major device components:
- Handheld device—Mobile ECG recorder:
- Has two electrodes. User places one or more fingers from each hand on the electrodes to record a single-lead ECG.
- The recorder transmits data to the smartphone via an ultrasonic signal as long as the phone is less than 12 inches from the recorder.
- The recorder can be adhered to the back of a smartphone or a protective phone case.
- The recorder has a replaceable battery.
- Dimensions: 8 × 3.5 × 0.5 cm.
