Smaller facilities have been waiting for alternatives to the da Vinci® surgical system (Intuitive Surgical, Inc., Sunnyvale, CA, USA). As robotics are embedded into basic surgical education, new surgeons may demand access to the tools. Use will vary by specialty, with highest use in urology, gynecology, and general surgery.
