Risk Management: Implementation Guide
June 4, 2021 | Caring Communities and Peace Church RRG
The purpose of this!(/_layouts/images/icpdf.png)revised Implementation Guide is to provide tools and resources for the ongoing development of an effective quality and risk management program. The guide follows the prescriptive platform.
The joint mission of Caring Communities—a reciprocal risk retention group, Peace Church Risk Retention Group (PCRRG); and ECRI, is to provide aging services risk management resources that are evidence‐based, practical, and consistent with industry standards in order to reduce the risk of injury or harm to residents, staff, and the organization. Because risk management for aging services is an evolving discipline, this implementation guide should also be viewed as an ever‐evolving resource to be updated with new research, information, and tools.
These resources include tools for creating a written, organization-wide risk management plan; developing a culture of safety; establishing a risk management committee; integrating the program with other care‐critical programs, such as environmental safety and security; developing effective reporting mechanisms; and constructing an internal and external adverse event reporting system.
