NQF Endorses 30 Hospital and Postacute Care Readmission Measures
December 30, 2016 | Aging Services Risk, Quality, & Safety Guidance
The National Quality Forum (NQF) has endorsed 30 new and existing hospital and postacute care readmission measures, two of which were adjusted for demographic factors including socioeconomic status (SES), marital status, and insurance status, according to a December 12, 2016, press release from NQF. The measures were endorsed in the midst of a trial to determine whether NQF adjustment for SES, in specific situations, will become a permanent NQF policy. Most of the readmission measures were included in the trial, and for most of those measures, adjusting for SES had little effect.
