​Although risk managers are typically not involved in day-to-day "labor relations" with their organizations' employees, risk managers should be familiar with the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) and recent labor law developments in the healthcare sector, as labor relations with the organization may directly or indirectly involve patient safety, quality improvement, and risk management.
