More than half of the money recovered under the False Claims Act by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) during fiscal year 2015 came via claims related to healthcare, according to data reported by the agency. Healthcare claims represented $1.9 billion of the total $3.5 billion DOJ recovered in the fiscal year. Of this amount, $800 million came from a pair of settlements with a dialysis provider, and an additional $330 million came from settlements with hospitals, including a massive group of settlements for more than $250 million involving more than 450 hospitals.
