Nationwide Drug Shortages Persist Despite Efforts

Risk managers may be interested in a November 16, 2012, New York Times article that discusses the current state of the drug shortage crisis in the United States. Largely caused by issues related to manufacturing, the problem peaked in 2011 when a record 251 drugs were declared in short supply. The article states that in 2012 slightly more than 100 drugs were placed on the list.
