Initiatives in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Office of Inspector General's (OIG) latest annual work plan aimed at nursing homes include a report on the implementation status of the National Background Check Program and early results from the first four years of the program. OIG also intends to review compliance with various aspects of the skilled nursing facility prospective payment system, including the documentation required to support Medicare claims.
