Life Plan Community: The New Name for CCRCs

"Life plan community" is the new name for continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs), LeadingAge announced in an October 30, 2015, post. The name is the result of a two-year process led by LeadingAge and Mather LifeWays and involving a consumer research firm and four marketing firms. A new website, lifeplancommunity.org, offers more information about the change, including the research process. The task force gleaned feedback from industry leaders, CCRC residents and prospective residents, and the general population.
