The Ethics Subcommittee of the American Medical Directors Association (AMDA, the Society for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine) recommends against implementing policies for Stopping Eating and Drinking by Advance Directives (SED by AD) in Assisted Living and Nursing Homes for residents who still accept food and fluids, in an article by that title.
