LeadingAge Announces Tool to Evaluate Five-Star Rating, Identify Opportunities for Improvement

​Skilled nursing facilities can take advantage of a new tool from LeadingAge and LeadingAge New York to analyze Nursing Home Compare data and identify opportunities to improve their five-star ratings, the organization has announced. The LeadingAge 5-Star Analysis for Nursing Homes, part of LeadingAge Insights, analyzes data on the three previous health inspections, staffing hours per resident day, and 11 quality measure ratings, all of which are included in the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) five-star rating. By understanding the factors that influenced CMS's assigned star rating, LeadingAge says, nursing homes can focus their improvement efforts where they will have an impact.
