Hurricanes bring a myriad of potential public health concerns and hazards, including drowning, carbon monoxide poisoning, electrocution, falls, exposure to mold, and exacerbation of existing chronic conditions, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said in a September 13, 2017, Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report. CDC issued the report in the wake of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma.
