The Workforce Cabinet of LeadingAge has created two competency development guides for personal care attendants and midlevel managers, respectively, reports an article in the July-August 2015 issue of LeadingAge Magazine. The guides may be used by continuing care retirement communities, nursing homes, assisted-living communities, home health agencies, home- and community-based services, and affordable senior housing communities. The four areas of competency in the guide for personal care attendants are technical skills, applied understanding, interpersonal skills, and self-directed care.
