Postacute/LTC Communities Extend Their Reach: #SocialMediaInAgingServices
August 25, 2017 | Aging Services Risk, Quality, & Safety Guidance
The use of social media by senior living communities can help residents and staff to engage in the community and foster relationships or connections with people outside of day-to-day interactions, according to an article recently published in Caring for the Ages. The author suggests that more facilities are using social media to establish a presence within their community, to market their services or open employment positions, and to engage with other facilities or organizations within the discipline. These organizations have developed their personalized social media strategy to best serve their mission, values, and goals. For example, posted content can offer staff news, information about community activities and celebrations, marketing tools, or general information to support nationwide initiatives.
