Satisfaction with Massachusetts nursing homes has remained consistently high since 2005, with more than 90% of respondents stating that they would recommend the nursing home facility they were rating, according to a study in the August 2013 Health Affairs. The study, based on publicly reported satisfaction data for nursing homes across the state, compared results from 2005, 2007, and 2009 surveys. Rankings for overall satisfaction from 1 (very dissatisfied) to 5 (very satisfied) averaged between 4.22 and 4.31 for the three years and from 4.09 to 4.16 for satisfaction that residents’ needs were met.
