Calling it "an important milestone for elder justice," the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Department of Justice (DOJ) have jointly issued the Elder Justice Roadmap, a suite of resources and tools intended to combat elder abuse, neglect, and financial exploitation. The road map was developed in consultation with experts following a series of nationwide summits on the topic. Resources include a series of online training modules supported by DOJ that address what lawyers should know about elder abuse, practical and ethical strategies to use when facing challenges in this area, and a primer on domestic violence and sexual assault.
