CMS Proposes 2% Increase in Medicare Skilled Nursing Reimbursement for 2015

​Medicare reimbursement for skilled nursing facilities will increase by 2% in fiscal year 2015, a greater increase than the 1.3% for fiscal year 2014, according to a Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) fact sheet. The American Health Care Association expressed its pleasure with the increase in an April 30, 2014, statement, noting that skilled nursing facilities "have shared in the sacrifice plenty through multiple government reductions over recent years. A stable Medicare payment system is essential in keeping skilled nursing care accessible to our seniors."
